A Flat for the Adams
Greetings from London! If you missed it, our family moved to London last week! Normer still works for Delta Airlines but is working for Virgin Airlines now. Delta owns a 49% stake in Virgin, so he is working on a few projects for them. The original agreement is that we will return to the States in July 2017. I don't know if it will be extended or not, but that is the plan for now!
Normer and I visited London back in March to look for schools for the boys and to look at flat options. It was helpful to come because we realized that a few of our school choices were just too far from our ideal area. Normer works at the Virgin Atlantic office's down in Crawley. That's about a 40 minute express train ride from Victoria Station in Central London. We found a wonderful school just a block away from the train station and now we have it narrowed down to two different flats that we like. Fingers crossed that the one we have an offer on comes through!! So let's play House Hunters, which flat did we choose??
Flat #1
2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths
938 sq ft
5th Floor
This apartment is in a modern building, with an elevator and a concierge. It has a large kitchen with an island, dishwasher and a double oven with a wine fridge. There is a small balcony with outdoor space. It even has a full size washer AND dryer. (Most places here only have a washer/dryer combo). It is furnished with super nice furniture and has a lot of storage space. The refrigerator is also full size too! There is a small grocery store located across the street. The downside is that it's at least a 20 minute walk to Badge's school through a very congested area.
Flat #2
2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths
746 sq ft
3rd Floor
This is a gorgeous fully renovated flat in a townhouse built in the 1850s. Many famous people have lived on this street including Mozart, Ian Fleming, and Alfred Tennyson! This is quite small but it has a lot of built in storage with great finishes. The most amazing thing about it is the location. It is literally across the street from Badge's school. He could stand at his classroom window and wave to me! Downside is that it is super tiny, no dryer and barely any counter space in the kitchen. It would only be a short 5 minute walk to the train station for Normer. There is a Starbucks just around the corner from it too. :)
