London at Christmas

"London is magical at Christmas!!"

I have heard that phrase over and over this year from everyone I know. I am now a firm believer that there is no other city in the world with as much Christmas spirit as London.

Here are my top picks for bringing Christmas Cheer while you are visiting this glorious city:

1) Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland is located in the middle of Hyde Park and contains carnival rides for all ages, along with Christmas markets, entertainment (Nutcracker on Ice, Circus and more!) and even an ice skating rink. Its free to enter Winter Wonderland but you'll need to purchase tickets for the rides. It usually is open from mid November until the beginning of January.

My friend, Mimi, and I visited Winter Wonderland on Thanksgiving Day this year. We were both sad to not be back in the States with family so we decided that riding some roller coasters would cheer each other up. This year the famous Munich Looping from the Germany Octoberfest Festival visited London for the first time so we of course took a spin.

We went back with the boys on a weekend and the crowds were definitely out in full force. The boys picked out rides and we visited a friendly giant too.

 2) Go for a Walk

Our family has been battling colds and sickness for much of November and December so we didn't get to check off all our Christmas wish lists, but we did go out for some walks in some of my favorite areas of London.

Trafalgar Square all decked out for Christmas and even complete with carolers.

 Can't beat this view!

Harrods is always festive!

Seven Dials may just be one of the most beautiful places in London I have seen so far.

The biggest tree in Covent Garden

I also recommend taking a stroll down Oxford Street, but its best to go very early in the morning since the crowds are so large.

3) Ice Skate

The Tower of London and Somerset House Ice Skating Rinks are so unique and beautiful. Just make sure you book in advance as the tickets do sell out!

Merry Christmas from my family to yours!!!
